With all the thousands of broken things (POS UI, pos vs alliance usage too, obsolete LP store, clicktastic invention...) they had to impose us their AWESOME?.
Now, if this was an upgrade, ok. But it's like Neocom: loss of functionality with nothing to replace it.
No way to enable the old behavior as well, something we learned well both with neocom and overview patches.
Helloooo, USE cases exist for a reason. I want the balls of who made the use cases of this feature on a platter. It uses so much screen real estate it's dumb. Removing the tree views reduces real estate but wait, less features than the old system.
The new window is nice and snappy but makes trivial things a pain, expecially since it won't even save the status of the opened child windows.
In a game we don't need "UI pain".
Please keep the UI but also restore the old behavior as an option or just make the UI work. If I open a window I want it to remember to stay open AND remember its position.
We had this till this morning, we NEED this tomorrow. Auditing | Collateral holding and insurance | Consulting | PLEX for Good Charity

I have now done POS operations, missions looting, and 5 minutes of mining.
The more I use this UI the more I despise it.
This had to be designed by a relative of the idiot who invented tree view for Windows Explorer but with the added handicap of not having provided backwards compatibility to a system that worked just better.
Yes it looked less slick, less "concept" but it WORKED and fast. Auditing | Collateral holding and insurance | Consulting | PLEX for Good Charity

Hammer Crendraven wrote:You guys are all thinking linear move outside of the box and think a bit. This is a great first step but it is not finished. We need the ability to create and store auto features as a clickable link. Like we do for drone wings now. You create a name and assign a number of drones to the wing. That name becomes a clickable link that will launch all the drones assinged to it in one click.
Can you see how this would work in the inventory UI? For example name a function unload ore. Then assign to that function the ability to select all ore in the active ships cargo bay and move it to the hanger bay. Store it as a clickable link. Then when you dock up one click on this named clickable link does this function for you. Just like launching a wing of drones. Some error checking needs to be installed with these functions but it can be done. Like to make sure you are docked up so you do not dump all your ore into space.
Another function I would like is to unload all cargo from a wreck into my cargo bay. Target the wreck one click on the function and its done. Again error checking to ask if you want to load contraband if there is any on the wreck.
Programming into the UI so that we can create auto functions assigned to any name you can think of to do all sorts of one click functions. It would be the end goal of the new inventory UI and would make it very usefull for all of us.
This ability does not exsist now but I would hope CCP would add it asap if we all asked for it.
It's almost like the players expected a finished and practically functional feature. We don't pay 12 euros now, 3 euros in 4 months, so why would CCP deliver 80% of a MOST FUNDAMENTAL game feature now and 20% in 4 months?
What do we do in these 4 months? I can't even bring down my POSes waiting for this infinite clusterf**k to be fixed, it's too messy even for that. Auditing | Collateral holding and insurance | Consulting | PLEX for Good Charity

Seriously, the way some of you are carrying on is astonishing. People don't get this worked up over actual real problems. If this is the worst thing to happen to you this week, God I wish I had your cushy life. I can just picture you all now, red faced and huffing in impotent rage at your computer monitor as you continue to pay to play this game you now hate so much.
Keep paying that subscription, that'll show 'em.
Actually, people have already a very crappy life and therefore they expect to play a game that does not provide them further crappy experience.
The real answer is not: "Oh I have nothing else to cry about so let's flame that abortion of UI".
The real answer is: "Oh, I already have to deal with all this unnecessary crap during the day, then I log in and find more crap to deal with". Auditing | Collateral holding and insurance | Consulting | PLEX for Good Charity

Moonasha wrote:Um. Go to general settings and tick "Merge items and ships into station panel." Problem solved. You can drag **** onto your ships, double click them, or use the oldschool inventory alongside the new one. The new inventory system is amazing.
Hehe the new inventory is so amazing that you want to merge items and ships in order to access and use the old inventory system. Got it. Auditing | Collateral holding and insurance | Consulting | PLEX for Good Charity
